This collection contains several hundred postcards printed between the end of the 19th and the middle of the 20th century, that is in the period from when they first appeared until the introduction of photograph postcards, from the period of the beginnings of tourism when postcards were just cards with a picture and blank space for the address on the back to the introduction of modern postcards such as those used today. As an integral element of tourist inventory, postcards are also a valuable source and witness of the continuous changes in the appearance of Croatian tourist centers.
